This is recent commission I painted of a family's dearly departed cat. The cat used to love chasing shrews in the client's yard, so we incorporated a shrew cautiously peeking out of it's hole in the ground. I painted all the imagery by hand, using photographs of the cat as a reference. On this piece, I gave the surface a textured finish to complement the look and feel of the plants and greenery surrounding the cat.
